Due to the re-planning and new layout of the permanent exhibition, major sections of the exhibition in the Altes Schloss (Old Castle) are currently closed. For this reason, entry to the Württemberg State Museum (Altes Schloss, Roman lapidarium, Fruchtkasten) will be free of charge for a period of one year starting April 1st 2011.

Entry to the Childrens’ Museum (Junges Schloss, Young Castle) will cost the regular price.

In fall 2010, the "Young Castle. Stuttgarts Children´s Museum" opened its doors for kids and the whole family. It is a cultural adventure spot presenting an exciting journey into the past.
