Our branches
In addition to the exhibition areas in Stuttgart and Waldenbuch, the Württemberg State Museum also operates seven branch museums at other locations around the state. For the most part, the branch museums are devoted to our special collections. Ludwigsburg Castle, for instance, houses the museum of ceramic arts and the fashion museum.
In Leinfelden-Echterdingen visitors will find the German playing card museum. Schlossmuseum Aulendorf is home to the “art of classicism” and “old toys” collections, while the castle in Bad Urach displays our special collection of ornate court sleighs. At the Dominican museum in Rottweil, visitors can see medieval sculptures, and in Schloss Hellenstein in Heidenheim there is a museum for coaches, chaises and carts.
